![]() Yao will go down as one of my favorite players ever and I am so glad that I got to see him play LIVE, in his prime. ![]() And it's so sad that we were robbed of an all-time great. If you are a fan of great centers, then you have to be a fan of Yao Ming. There was NO ONE in the league at the time that could really go to war with Shaq, and Yao proved that he could hold his own, right off the bat. Ming Yaos full details including attributes, animations, tendencies, coach boosts, upgradable badges, evolutions (stats and badge upgrades), dynamic duos, and comments. His rookie season battle with Shaq was simply EPIC. I'd take a healthy Yao Ming over ANY center in the NBA today, no question. Yao benefited greatly from working with Patrick Ewing during his formative years in Houston, and also working with Hakeem. He had a silky smooth jump shot, he could hit his free throws, AND he had a vast array of post moves. He was very agile/mobile for being 7'6" (name another center taller than 7'5" that was as athletic as Yao. He's definitely deserving of it, either way. The entire country of China became interested in basketball once Yao was drafted into the NBA. Even so, Yao is a guaranteed Hall of Famer, because of his contributions to the sport. He's one of the best big men to ever play the game, but unfortunately, injuries derailed what should've been a monumental career. If Yao could've stayed healthy, there's NO DOUBT in my mind that he would STILL be a top 3 center in the NBA, if not the #1 center. He was pretty awesome and if Shaq had been in the east we all would have heard more about him and you kids would have gotten to see him more on sports center. I just watched that Yao hype video and it showed him giving great effort in competing agains Shaq but if any of you are old enough to have actually watched the games you would agree that yes Yao was friggin super human at that size and was a pretty mobile big for that over sized stature but unfortunately he had a more "Dominant" big preventing him from getting the opportunity to be talked about the way he should have been. He was pretty awesome to watch simply towering over every big man in the game at that time, however as with most abnormal giants he didnt have a strong enough solid base to seriously compete against his conference rival. I really wish he had not suffered so many injuries because it would have been very exciting for many to see him continue to get dominated by Shaq lol. He was extremely tough to try and move him off his base when he went camel spread with those legs. ![]() Mylie10 wrote:It's sad that Yao got robbed of a great career with injuries.
